Cancer Surgery

When it's possible, the goal of cancer surgery is to remove all of the cancer from the body. To do this, the surgeon uses cutting tools to remove the cancer and some healthy tissue around it.

The surgeon may also remove some lymph nodes in the area. The lymph nodes are tested to see if they contain cancer cells.

Endoscopic Surgery

This type of surgery is performed using a scope, a flexible tube with a camera and light at the tip. This allows your surgeon to see inside your colon and perform procedures without making major incisions, allowing for easier recovery time and less pain and discomfort.

Endoscopic procedures are most often used for diagnosis.
